**Mugs and travel mugs are also available with the swiss cross image. The image is applied through a glaze transfer process in a third kiln firing (we normally fire every pot twice) that takes place after the glaze firing. It is normal for there to be a raised surface around the image. That is the texture of the flux in the actual glaze image. It is completely permanent and will not come off in normal use or the dishwasher once it has been fired to 1550 degrees f.
